La Yunta Torrontes

About the Wine

The Torrontes grape, originally from Spain, was first brought to Argentina in the late 1800's by Spanish immigrants.  While most Argentine Torrontes is produced in La Salta, we prefer it from La Rioja.  The region’s more moderate climate produces a Torrontes that is much more “focused” on the palate and considerably drier than most.  Careful vineyard management and native yeast fermentation make this Torrontes refreshing as a cool summer’s day.  A unique wine and one well worth trying.  The freshness of the wine can

be seen in its crystal clear appearance.   This wine has become one of our best selling varietals.

Varietal: Torrontes

Wine Type: White

Origin: Argentina

Elaboration: 10% of the wine is aged in French oak for six months.  Grapes from a 44 year old vineyard.

Tasting Notes

Notably aromatic of green melon and white peach, this wine bursts with flavor.  It has balanced citrus flavor with a touch of French oak to provide a crisp yet lingering finish.  Wonderful as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to seafood or poultry.  We are finding that, because of its bold, fresh taste and affordable price, many customers are purchasing

it for wedding parties.

Hint: This wine is best when served very chilled and, when drunk on a hot day, will disappear before you know it.  Can easily become an everyday wine as it is extremely affordable.  And, because this Torrontes has become so popular in the stores, we have added Torrontes' from Carlos Basso and Alberti 154 wineries.
