About the Wine:

 

This family-run estate lies in the tiny hamlet of Saint Marcel d’Ardeche in Southern France, in a small wine-growing region just northwest of Avignon between the Northern and Southern Rhône. Using sustainable farming techniques, the Dorthe family produces alluring bistro style blends. Saint Marcel d’Ardeche , 45 miles northwest of Avignon, is rich with ancient ruins, including vestiges of a Roman outpost.  The vineyard once served as a Roman military outpost.

 

Wine Type: Red

Varietal: Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%), unoaked with an average vine age of 46 years.

Origin: France

Elaboration: Utilization of sustainable agriculture which respects the environment established by the Forum de l'Agriculture Raisonnée Respecteuse l'Environnement. Three passes in the vineyard for only unbroken healthy grapes.  Grenache and Syrah are de-stemmed entirely. Fermentation at 45 °F for a duration of 21 days, without oak
