Carlos Basso Dos Fincas Chardonnay

About the Wine

With so many anonymous Chardonnay out there on the market, seldom do you taste one that really catches your attention.  This is a head turner.  Rich and heady, while at the same time elegant, this Chardonnay is made in the European style, meaning it is a drier than one finds in American made Chardonnays with a strong French Oak flavor.  And, importantly, is grown on sustainable vineyards and bottled in lighter glass to help the ecology.

Varietal: Chardonnay

Wine Type: White Wine

Origin: Argentina

Appellation: Tunuyan, Mendoza

Elaboration: 30% of the wine spends four months in French oak

Tasting Notes

Brilliant yellow color with greenish highlights.  Refined aromas of apple and guava, with layers of tropical fruit flavors on the palate.  Has a smooth and almost buttery quality to the wine.  50% malolactic fermentation gives it a balanced creaminess on the palate. This is a dryer Chardonnay, with a nice french oak taste.
