Bouza Tannat
About the Wine
This Tannat, Bouza's flagship bottling, demonstrates the huge potential that exists for Tannat's future in Uruguay. Tannat is a red wine grape, historically grown in South West France in the Madiran AOC and is now one of the most prominent grapes in Uruguay, where it is considered the “national grape.” Plantings of Tannat (also known in Uruguay as Harriague) have been increasing in Uruguay each year as that country's wine industry develops. The Tannat wines produced in Uruguay are characterized by more elegant and softer tannins and blackberry fruit notes than the Tannat wines bottled in France. A strong wine with a full body, something new for those who enjoy a rich, full taste.
Editor's Note: While an unknown wine to most people, this wine sells out everytime at our wine tastings. So, when you're in the mood not to drink your usual wine, try this. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
